In his latest statement, US President Donald Trump argued there was a wide consensus that the Fed should cut interest rates.

But Trump repeated his criticism of Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, saying, “Powell too late will probably ruin things again.”

Trump said almost everyone agreed that the Fed should cut interest rates immediately. However, he suggested that Powell mismanages this process as he did in previous steps. Trump also described Powell in April as a “big loser” saying, “He should be in office soon.” Trump retreated for a while after these statements when the market was turmoil, but he responded again this month when interest rates were not cut.

Trump also announced he would call Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday. He spoke with Ukrainian president Voldime Zelenki after his meeting with Putin and said he would meet with various NATO figures along with Zelensky.
