Today’s Bitcoin Pizza Day is becoming more and more special.
Yes, it’s the first pizza day where the two pies in question are worth over $1 billion, but that’s not what I’m talking about here.
No, today, something else will respect Lazlo Hanices’ heroic contributions behind a humble bar room in the heart of New York City.
This has been officially launched at Pubkey Bar and Restaurant, and has been added to the estimated 500 or so Hall of Fame inductions, which are estimated to have been founded globally. That may seem like a strange choice. For example, it is hard to imagine many early bitcoiners being obsessed with the admiration of the sport.
But it’s a bit of a reminder of something that gets lost in every conversation that’s over $100,000 in every conversation about Bitcoin March. Bitcoin may objectively be the highest storage of value, but value is subjective in itself. As Austrian economists have learned (and Fiat economists forget too much), it is something we create and exchange through our actions.
So, I value Lashiro’s sacrifice, so I will be there to lend my support. Certainly, he may have lost $1 billion, but he’s getting something more. Our respect and admiration for his intentions and his foresight.
As a result, no one would imagine becoming an inductee into the Bitcoin Hall of Fame.

Bitcoin Pizza Day is really Bitcoin Pizza Week.

There’s no doubt that Lashiro has done a lot for Bitcoin with his passion for pizza. He also did a lot for Sato, even if he didn’t really feel good.
Laszlo’s first pizza purchase is currently valued at $1.1 billion. The equivalent amount invested in Papajon’s stock is otherwise worth $164.
In a 2018 interview, Lazlo probably gave perhaps the most candid insight into what it was like to develop Bitcoin with Satoshi in the very early days.
In total, Laszlo exchanged hundreds of emails with Satoshi in 2010, sending Bitcoin creators frequently to complete them.
