Known for its eye-opening orbs verifying human accounts in mobile super apps, World Network is launching the next phase of its developer incentive campaign.
The World Network is managed by the World Foundation and is also involved with corporate entities such as World Assets Limited and World Chain LLC. Tools for Humanity, a commercial blockchain product developer, oversees the development of global apps.
Collectively, the World Foundation and TFH are working with the Crypto Events Dao FWB to host the builder’s next event, World Build 2.0, in July. The tool of humanity’s Chief Product Officer Tiago Sada was one of the judges for the first edition.
The First World Build event ran for five months from February to May this year. Online hackathons followed by face-to-face build sprints, and the day of the demo is over. There, the builders pitched the app to VCS and threw hats into the ring for various grants. The second build event is expected to have a similar format.
Regardless of your participation in World Build, mini app builders have a variety of funding opportunities. The World Foundation offers the Mini Apps Grants program and Mini App Retractive Rewards.
TFH’s Dev Rewards Pilot has a total of $300,000 for developers over the three months ending June 30th. The $25,000 per week is split into multiple development teams based on the performance of the mini app.
The World Foundation is already shipping Wld Tokens to $1 million worth of WLD tokens, something already for the global app, and by May 16th it offers developers who saw over 10,000 verified users as part of a retroactive fundraising effort. Developers must apply for that one-time WLD token gift until June 9th.
Data from Humanitarian Tools shows that 300 mini apps have been available within mobile apps around the world, with venture capital funds of around $12 million and venture capital funds of around $12 million.
The World App uses the World Network blockchain, built on Ethereum through an optimistic superchain.
Monetization is not currently the main focus of the World Foundation or TFH. Instead, they are driving the growth of the platform and adoption of users.
According to the Google Play Store page, the World app has seen over 10 million downloads so far on Android alone.
Based on data from Analytics Platform AppFigures, World App for Android appears to be much more popular than the iOS version. The Android version has seen over 5.9 million downloads this year alone, while the iOS version has fewer than 1 million downloads in that same period.
