Bitget, a leading cryptocurrency exchange and web 3 company and UNICEF of Luxembourg, is partnering to advance blockchain literacy and improve digital skills among global youth.
In the three-year partnership, Bitget will join the UNICEF Innovation Game Changers Coalition to support 300,000 people including adolescent girls, parents, mentors and teachers, as well as 300,000 teachers with blockchain skills. Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco and South Africa.
Bitget Academy for developing UNICEF’s online training modules
Bitget Academy is Bitget’s education division, developing Unicef’s first interactive online and direct blockchain training modules and using the creation skills development of video games for young people.
According to a press release, this is welcomed by the curriculum, which has already reached hundreds of thousands of people. Bitet also helps to expand the reach of the Union to the ninth country.
Sandra Visher, executive director of UNICEFURXEMBRUK, noted that digital skills partnerships are a powerful driver of opportunity and inclusion. She said, “By working with Bitget, we want to provide youth and young people with the tools, knowledge and confidence to shape their futures. Innovation needs to include, open doors, broaden our horizons and ensure that technology is useful to everyone.”
Bitget also aims to implement UNICEF to major blockchain protocols and developers from across the Web3 landscape to join the Educational Initiative. These contributors serve as mentors and partners, offering a diverse perspective and potential in blockchain technology.
In her signature, Gracie Chen pointed out that emerging technologies should not be reserved for the privileged few, but should be introduced early and impartially. She said, “Blockchain with real-world use cases and the potential for social benefits is one of the most powerful tools we can give to younger generations, allowing us to build products that will change the way we see modern society.
Every year, adolescent girls and young women in low and middle-income countries miss out on $15 billion in economic opportunities due to the gap in internet access and digital skills compared to their male peers. With 90% of today’s employment needs digital capabilities, the Game Changers Coalition addresses the urgency of closing the gap in gender digital skills.
Bitget, UNICEF equips women for digital economy
Bitget and Unicef are working to build a scalable and comprehensive model that equips young women with the tools to navigate and shape the digital economy of tomorrow.
As part of the Game Changers Coalition, Bitget will be participating in ecosystem builders like the women of games, providing opportunities for learning and skill building, with its shared ambition of reaching 1.1 million girls by 2027. With the help of Bitget Academy and support from the $10 million initiative BlockChain4Her, Bitget plans to strengthen digital literacy and economic independence among young women.
