The official Bitcoin X account has rekindled the BTC-XRP feud with its latest post.

Yesterday, Bitcoin’s official X account posted a meme trolling XRP. This post features two panel comic memes that characterize XRP as “junk,” meaning very low-quality assets.

Bitcoin Troll XRP

In the first frame of the meme, the child stepped on something uncomfortable and then checked the soles of his shoes in disgust. The Bitcoin account quoted the child saying, “I just stepped into some crap.”

In particular, the second frame showed a clearer image of the shoe, labeling the so-called crap as XRP. The post represents a visual insult to XRP from Bitcoin’s official X handle, calling the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization “jewelry.”

The XRP community responds

As expected, the Post rekindled a long-standing feud between Bitcoin and the XRP community. This has been tried to resolve for many industry stakeholders over the years.

Following the Bitcoin post, the XRP community responded with similar energy, trolling the world’s largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

Six8Jay, a member of the XRP community, repeated a meme criticizing Bitcoin’s transaction speed. In the Six8Jay rendition, the first frame of the meme showed a child stepping on “slow crap” and the second frame showed Bitcoin under the shoes.

Edoardo Farina, founder of Alpha Lions Academy, spoke about how David Schwartz, Jed McCaleb, and Arthur Britto created the XRP ledger (XRPL) to fix the inherent flaws in Bitcoin, particularly its proof (POW) algorithm. He also called BTC (B)ETA(T)EST(C)OIN, while calling XRP the final product.

One community member, Risktake suggested that he trolled XRP because his Bitcoin account views coins as a serious threat. Another XRP enthusiast criticized Bitcoin’s speed and said he used Bitcoin to pay for coffee, but the barista stopped him from leaving as the transaction was still being processed.

Additionally, popular XRP community figures Alex Cobb shares a screenshot showing that the official Bitcoin account blocked him with X, describing the move as “super Bearish.”

Meanwhile, other crypto enthusiasts have urged both communities to end the feud and unite for the greater good of the industry.

Bitcoin and XRP rivalry

Both communities have been at odds over the past few years, and this rivalry has emerged on social media platforms like X.

Earlier this year, the XRP and Bitcoin communities collided due to the US Crypto-back initiative. The largest list of some Bitcoin claimed that Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse made a claim against BTC’s inclusion in the project. However, Garlinghouse denied the allegations, noting that it is not focused on Bitcoin alone, but advocating a multicoin reserve.

As hostilities lasted for a long time, Ripple donated “Sato’s Skull” to the Bitcoin community last month as a peace offering. Gerlinghouse noted that Sato’s skull, which was originally used to highlight Bitcoin’s high energy usage, introduces the longevity of BTC.

Less than a month after Ripple offered peace, Bitcoin’s X account renewed its feud with XRP.
