On June 26th, World (formerly WorldCoin) launched a new infrastructure called Priority Blockspace for Humans (PBH) at World Chain Mainnet. This is an update aimed at improving blockchain access for validated human users.
World Chain is a Layer 2 blockchain built on an OP stack and protected by Ethereum. It is designed to scale within the super chain ecosystem and is integrated with the WorldCoin protocol. The network is intended to serve a global user base through apps that are accessible through compatible wallets such as World apps.
PBH is a new infrastructure component that prioritizes transactions from users that are verified in the ORB. He is a person who used his world ID to prove his identity. During times of network congestion, PBH reserves a portion of each block dedicated to these users. This ensures that their transactions pass without delay, regardless of gas prices or economic competition.
The system guarantees access to key services such as human proofs, mini apps and grant claims at no additional cost. It is automatically activated during high demand.
The PBH was tested on an incentive testnet that included participation from researchers and teams from Flashbots and Alchemy. It is open source and integrated into World Chain Block Builder and Rollup Boost. This is an OP stack chain tool that allows you to order custom transactions. Both the PBH and the rollup boost were audited independently by Nethermind.
