According to the latest survey results from Finbold’s H1 2025 Cryptocurrency Market Report, the number of Bitcoin (BTC) holdings over $1 million in the first half of 2025 rose sharply.
From January 1st to June 30th, 2025, the total number of billionaires Bitcoin wallets rose 26,758, up from 155,569 at the beginning of the year to 182,327 by the end of June.
From Q1 rejection to Q2 BTC recovery
Interestingly, the majority of that growth occurred in the second quarter. In the first quarter, the number of billionaires addresses, which fell from 155,569 on January 1 to 141,627 on March 31, from 155,569 on March 31, actually fell 13,942. That decline included 12,687 people holding $1 million and 1,255 people holding $10 million.
However, Q2 brought about a sudden rebound. By June 30th, the number of wallets holding at least $1 million had risen to 161,839, with an increase of 21,589 addresses in just three months. Additionally, the number of addresses over $10 million increased significantly over the same period, up 5,169, resulting in net profits from new billionaires wallets of 26,758 over H1.
Bitcoin accumulation trend return
The revival of high-value wallet addresses reflected strong purchasing activities during the market dip at the beginning of the year, updating demand for institutions after the launch of the US spot Bitcoin ETF.
The April 2025 Harving event, which reduced the block’s rewards from 6.25 to 3.125 BTC, produced bullish sentiment by reinforcing the long-term rarity narrative of Bitcoin, reaching digital assets of $111,970 on May 22, 2025.
Although each wallet does not represent its own individual, as some entities may control multiple addresses, metrics are widely used as a proxy for accumulation by wealthy investors, funds and crypto companies.
Adding over 26,000 new Bitcoin billionaires in just six months is one of the most powerful accumulation cycles since the 2021 Bull Run, and could potentially show wider market strength towards the second half of the year.
