Ripple officially brought in the banks of New York Mellon Corporation, known as BNY, so as the leading reserve manager of RLUSD, an enterprise-grade Stablecoin, President Monica publicly framed the partnership as a critical step towards establishing assets as the standard for global companies.
The behind-the-scenes intentions are simple. It builds a stubcoin that combines compliance and utilities, backed by one of the oldest and most trusted names in traditional finance.
Designed for institutions, RLUSD is suitable for use cases that require cross-border payment flows and liquidity, speed and monitoring. With BNY currently in charge of the reserve custody, Ripple’s positioning will shift from ambitious to operational. On the other hand, the market has its own interpretation of development. The XRP quietly splits from the reverse head and shoulder pattern in the textbook, surpassing the $2.31 neckline, reaching $2.35 that day. If the volume is kept, Momentum Targets line up at around $2.45 and $2.62.
Ripple keeps RLUSD and XRP on separate tracks, but investors often see them as part of the same broader story. Institutional victory tends to ripple. Today, the story is much harder to ignore as global banks are breaking out of Ripple’s latest Stablecoin initiative and XRP escapes the chart structure.
It’s interesting to note that the partnership happened on the same day that Ripple USD surpassed the big milestone of $500,000,000 market capitalization, according to CoinmarketCap. RLUSD achieved this milestone in just 203 days or just over six months. Its market capitalization is 500 million, and Ripple USD is currently ranked 8th among the largest stubcoins.
