Maestro, the Bitcoin Defi Infrastructure Company, builds native indexers of ordinal and runes with Internet Computer Protocol (ICP). The project is supported by a grant from the Dfinity Foundation and will operate as a canister within the ICP blockchain network. The indexer provides real-time Bitcoin asset data that supports applications built on ICP.
ICP has become the leading platform for Bitcoin Smart Contracts through Chain Fusion Technology. This allows you to directly interact with Bitcoin without an intermediary. Maestro’s new indexer improves support for ICP ordinal and rune applications by providing fast and reliable data access from the Bitcoin network.
The system directly validates Bitcoin asset activity within the ICP using features such as Mempool monitoring and protection against blockchain reorganization. These tools are intended to improve the speed and accuracy of data delivery for developers building on the platform.
Bitcoin-based lending protocol Liquidium will first use indexers. It plans to launch a new product that allows users to lock Bitcoin into their base layer and borrow USDT in Etheram without using bridges or wrap tokens.
Maestro’s infrastructure already supports hundreds of applications and developers. The new indexer is open source and will be available throughout the ICP ecosystem. This project is part of a broader push to expand ICP’s Bitcoin-related development by providing a secure tool for developers to build native applications.
