President Donald Trump said the US plans to complete most of its trade contracts before the voluntary deadline on August 1.

The declaration follows a trade agreement just announced with Japan, with tariffs falling from 25% to 15%. Furthermore, negotiations with the European Union look promising. Though Trump said there was only a “50/50” chance for the final deal to take place. He suggested that the EU must lower tariffs to complete the transaction.

The US has successfully negotiated lower tariffs with various Southeast Asian countries. Within the past few weeks, including Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines. Countries such as China, India, Mexico, South Korea and Canada are in discussions. Trump has reaffirmed that countries that refuse to open markets in the US can expect higher tariffs.

These trade talks are particularly close to the crypto market. Global uncertainty in trade has induced the volatility of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in the past. As the deadline approaches, it can have a significant impact on the direction of the market, whether these transactions are completed and resolved.

Trump also noted that negotiations with China have been mostly happening after a long exchange with President Xi Jinping. However, negotiations with Canada appear to have gone off track. The president has considered new, unsolved tariffs on Canadian imports if something is not achieved immediately.

However, European authorities hope to sign a trade agreement with the US as soon as this weekend. If it succeeds, it gives new vitality to both traditional markets and cryptocurrencies, especially when Bitcoin moves at range-bound prices.
