Retail crypto use cases are slowly becoming mainstream worldwide. On Monday, July 28th, Grab, Southeast Asia’s largest riding app, announced it would add support for crypto payments in the Philippines. Domestic users will be able to replenish Grab’s cache balance with Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), and USDC and USDT Stablecoins.
This feature was enabled through a partnership with Triple-A, a company specializing in crypto payments. The two companies first began working together in 2024. Grab has launched a similar crypto top-up function in Singapore. Triple-A CEO Eric Barbier said the move will make digital currencies more accessible and easier to use in everyday life in Southeast Asia.
“We have successfully launched Grabpay’s top-up with cryptocurrency in Singapore. The response was amazing. We are now looking forward to bringing this service to the Philippines, a market that is ready for digital currency,” says Eric Barbier, Triple-A.
