Ethereum hits $4,000, the largest price of the year

7 months ago 3 Min Read

Ethereum’s native cryptocurrency, Ethher (ETH), is trading at $4,000 at a level not seen since December 2024.

It’s shade Historically, it has served as an upward resistanceand breaking it with enough volume can drive ETH to the historic maximum of $4,891 reached in 2021. This is currently under 20%.

Despite this advancement, ETH is facing the challenge of over $4,000. Other cryptographic effects such as Bitcoin (BTC) and XRP have marked new records 2025.

In the image below, we can see that ETH has some unsuccessful attempts to overcome this barrier.

However, the Ethereum ecosystem shows signs of strength. This week, daily transactions within the network reached a historic up to 1.74 million, which increases the demand for ETH to pay fees. By the logic of supply and demand, This increase in activity should translate into an urge to the price upwardsalthough this trend has not yet been fully reflected in prices.

Furthermore, institutional adoption is changing panorama for ETH. Yesterday, on August 7th, Ether Holdings, at the facility’s hands, reached a record of 3 million ETH, worth $11.6 billion, according to encrypted data. This represents 2,500% growth since April with 67 entities of 112,960 ETH.

The appeal of staking, which offers an annual performance of 3% per year, encourages companies to fund ETH purchases through debts such as convertible stocks and bonds, rather than relying solely on investment income.

Meanwhile, Ethereum ETFs resumed positive performance, bringing their capital tickets totaling $330 million for the third consecutive day. This flow requires managers of these funds to purchase more ETH to support actions that drive demand and, as a result, cryptocurrency prices.

This adds a lucrative regulatory environment that supports the general rise of the market this Friday. Under Donald Trump’s direction, the US government signed an executive order Cryptocurrency can be included in your retirement planopen the door and make sure billions of dollars are invested in this type of asset.

If ETH exceeds $4,000 resistance with sufficient volume, the path to a new historic maximum will become clear and supported by growing activities in the network, institutional benefits, and a more favorable regulatory framework.

Updated 8/8/2025: This article will be updated to report the arrival of ETH for $4,000.
