Binance suspends withdrawals on the Ethereum network as of this date

Leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced on October 17th to be exact that it plans wallet maintenance for the Ethereum network within the next 24 hours.

Binance has announced that it will perform wallet maintenance on the Ethereum Network (ETH) on October 17th at 6:00 am (UTC), which will take approximately one hour. To support wallet maintenance, deposits and withdrawals on the Ethereum Network (ETH) will be paused starting October 17th at 5:55 AM UTC and will resume once maintenance is complete.

Deposits and withdrawals have been suspended, so trading of tokens on the network is not affected.

Token deposits and withdrawals on the Ethereum network will resume once the network is deemed stable. However, no further announcements will be published.

According to Santiment, Ethereum has maintained its trend over the past 24 hours due to significant developments such as large deposits into DeFi vaults by the Ethereum Foundation, institutional demand and supply dynamics, price forecasts, and ETF inflows that outperformed Bitcoin. He is also involved in national ID system migration and cross-chain interoperability projects.

X highlighted the massive $300 trillion PYUSD minting event on the Ethereum blockchain, while also recognizing Ethereum as a leading ecosystem for new developers in 2025. Technological advancements such as zkEVM real-time proofs further strengthen Ethereum’s lead in blockchain innovation.

This week, the Fusaka upgrade will launch on the Ethereum Sepolia testnet, followed by the Hoodi testnet.

The Fusaka upgrade, scheduled for early December 2025, will expand Ethereum’s capacity across all layers with Layer 1 throughput, Layer 2 rollup capacity, and a smoother experience for applications and validators.
