Core Solana access for US banking customers

In fact, SoFi enables direct on-chain deposits to major public blockchains within regulated national banks. Users can manage their balances along with checking, savings, and other financial products in a single interface.

This move expands SoFi’s digital asset offering beyond simple brokerage-style exposure. It connects traditional bank charters to a live blockchain network, which remains a rarity among nationally chartered US banks.

Access to the US is important for Solana

SoFi started as a student loan refinancing platform in 2011 and has since received national banking accreditation. The company has grown into a mid-sized U.S. bank with more than $50 billion in assets and tens of billions of dollars in deposits.

Although much smaller than the big Wall Street banks, it ranks among the nation’s largest digital-first banks.

The company’s brand extends beyond finance. SoFi holds the naming rights to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The venue hosted Super Bowl LVI in 2022 and WrestleMania 39 in 2023. It will also host multiple matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup and will play a central role in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Against this backdrop, the addition of Solana deposits signals deepening integration between U.S. banking infrastructure and public blockchains.

This allows regulated banking customers to move assets directly on-chain while remaining within the traditional banking framework.
