Arweave denied rumors that the network had stopped producing blocks. The report made it sound like there was an exploit or some kind of issue, such as an outage, but the team claims this is just outdated data.
According to a post on X by one of our team members, certain blockchain explorers, particularly ViewBlock, are showing old block data for Arweave, making it appear as if the chain has stopped producing blocks since #1,851,686 on February 6th.

“Arweave is continuously generating blocks / All transactions are being processed successfully, etc.” says a team member clarified.
They explained that Viewblock’s explorer for some reason started retrieving local cache counts instead of the actual network block height, but the team is reportedly in touch with them to resolve the issue.
The research team hopes their findings will put an end to the rumors and FUD that are spreading rapidly on the internet. It also didn’t help that many sites reported it as a major failure or outage without further verification.
