Bitcoin is a financial virus, Michael Saylor claims

6 months ago 3 Min Read

Strategy co-founder and executive chairman Michael Saylor shared a full recording of his public talk at the BTC Prague Crypto event last week. Blockstream CEO Adam Back also attended the talk.

In his chat, Saylor covered several important Bitcoin-related topics, including those related to BTC finance companies, and answered several questions from the audience.

Saylor reveals BTC Treasury Company mechanics

Cypherpunk legend and Nakamoto’s Saga ally Adam Back and Saylor called Bitcoin a “financial virus” or “ideas” and called companies “super advertisers” for Bitcoin.

One topic Saylor discussed was how the Bitcoin Treasury Company works, suggesting that even retail dentists can accumulate hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Bitcoin per year, turn into a public company, issue securities, sell and buy millions of dollars worth of BTC. Public companies are the best for this purpose, Saylor believes.

He also said, despite trillions of dollars being circulated in various financial markets, “a long-term durable business is to issue BTC-backed credit instruments and issue billions, billions, hundreds of millions of profits.”

Saylor also detailed a variety of metrics and model strategies, including BTC gains and BTC yields, BTC valuations, BTC risks, and BTC credits. Saylor also discussed the STRK and STRF credit instruments that the strategy developed.

Saylor calls Bitcoin a “financial virus”

As mentioned above, Saylor Bitcoin is a “financial virus” and in addition to it, it rapidly transforms the financial system and the world. He believes that there are many different ways people and businesses interact with Bitcoin, and they are evolving rapidly. If individuals/companies/banks begin trading Bitcoin peer-to-peer with each other, the crypto exchange could remain in the past, he said.

And the current situation could change radically in five years. He added that Bitcoin offers a great opportunity to build a Layer-2 network, and concludes his talk on the idea of Bitcoin and what it can do in the future.
