Bitcoin block 666,666 continues to stand out as it captures the attention and imagination of the crypto community a few years after its mining.

In January 2021, the Crypto community was surprised by the 666,6666 block of Bitcoin. The impressive numbers didn’t just highlight this block. Embedded within it was a rare and iconic message. The Biblical block contained the biblical message, “We should overcome evil with good, not by evil.”

The message was embedded as part of #bitcoin’s 666,666th block.

In the case of the block, which is very closely linked to the number 666, which is associated with the negative symbolism of religious terms, this message felt like a poetic twist. It quickly sparked discussion on social media, with many questioning its meaning, purpose and timing.

In the last 24 hours, there have been some mentions of Bitcoin’s 666,666 block, and its historic message has been recalled as the broader market faces uncertainty. At the time of writing, BTC was trading at $85,303, down from its all-time high of $109,114 reached January. Also, Bitcoin block 666,666 included Easter eggs for enthusiasts across the chain, which coincides with Easter season.

Bitcoin Easter Egg Legacy

Bitcoin (and other blockchains) allows users to include messages in transactions. These are immutable and private, much like the transactions themselves, and due to the design of the blockchain, they can never be censored.

Bitcoin has its own Easter egg heritage. In the first block, Nakamoto Atoshi embedded “The Times January 03/03/2009 Prime Minister Prime Minister Prime Minister for the Second Breakdown for Banks.” This was included in the first Bitcoin transaction (or the Genesis block). This is the headline in an English newspaper about the financial crisis at the time.
