Charles Hoskinson, founder of IOG, the company behind Cardano, continues to share his excitement about the successful “glacial drop.”
Hoskinson says the airdrop is bringing a huge influx of new users to the Cardano blockchain.
“Lots of new people” entering Cardano through a glacier drop
According to a screenshot shared by Hoskinson in a recent X post, the night’s total billing already consists of 35,602, with a total of 739,516,626.95 nights (spanning 3.08% of the total supply) being billed by the community.
This shows the important onboarding of new users into the Cardano Blockchain, driven by the organic reach of airdrops rather than traditional marketing.
Hoskinson commented on it, proudly saying: “The glacial drop brought many new people to Cardano.”

Earlier this week, Hoskinson released a tweet, boasting about 11,000 redemptions for 250,000,000 nights. His comments were full of enthusiasm: “I was blown away by progress.”
Ada is rising 4% overnight
Hoskinson’s tweet coincides with a significant rise in ADA prices. It has skyrocketed 3.89% over the last 24 hours, rising from $0.8190, a change of hand at the time of writing.
ADA prices have been rising since Wednesday. The overall price surge is 13.61%, following an increase in Bitcoin signing executive orders that allow U.S. President Donald Trump to invest in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
