Christie’s closed its digital art division and cut staff at the end of August, including VP Nicole Sales Giles, according to current media reports. The auction house confirmed the move, saying that Digital Works will be available for sale within the art categories of the 20th and 21st century.
The change coincides with the recession in the digital art market following the appointment of new CEO Bonnie Brennan in February.
