According to IOTA, its future objectives include expanding the product ecosystem focused on actual use cases in trade and logistics.
- The IOTA progress report for the second quarter 2025 points to some of the key progress that has occurred within the ecosystem, including rebasing protocols, gas stations and IOTA identity.
- IOTA suggests a strong focus on expanding the product ecosystem in the future.
In its progress report for the second quarter 2025 (second quarter 2025) highlighted some of its successful implementations, including the launch of IOTA Rebased mainnet and the debut of the Twin Foundation.
The rebase protocol, launched in the first week of May, represents consistent efforts and more than a year of collaboration across the research and development team, according to the report. However, it consumed a huge amount of resources.
The report further explains that during the review period, we also witnessed improvements to multiple protocols, including extended sequencing algorithms. According to details, this significantly reduced latency while increasing throughput.
Another notable mention within this period is onboarding the business innovation programmes of ObjectID, Orobo and Impierce Technologies. In particular, version 0.2 of the IOTA gas station has been released.
As mentioned in a previous post, this feature is designed to sponsor transaction fees in the background to promote a smooth user experience.
IOTA ID, Twin Foundation and other important advances 2025
In the blog post, IOTA also mentioned its relentless efforts to significantly advance certain initiatives, including IOTA’s identity. According to the report, version 1.6 beta was intended to enable compatibility with IOTA mainnets.
For easy access and onboarding, the team designed the IOTA ID and IOTA gas station product pages on their official website. Apart from this, the twins saw a “big victory” in the second quarter of this year as Iota joined five other entities to launch the Twin Foundation.
As shown in previous discussions, this was to position the twins through leadership and governance as “permanent world public goods for digital trade.”
During the period, the twins were featured in a dedicated session at the Tradetech Forum held in Abu Dhabi on April 8th. IOTA brought together several developers, industry leaders and policymakers to discuss the TLIP and Showcase Twin discussed in a previous blog post at the IOTA East Africa Web3 Innovation Summit in Nairobi on May 30th.
According to IOTA, its ecosystem teams also increased awareness of revamped protocols and community participation through events, campaigns and integration. As explained in detail in a previous news brief, the team organized the “Coingecko Learn 2 Anre (L2E) Campaign,” with 13,000 people taking part.
The IOTA campaign’s multiphase revenues also saw over 16,000 users. Furthermore, IOTA has partnered with Bithumb, Korea’s largest exchange, to launch the “The Bithumb L2E Campaign” to expand into a high potential market.
To conclude the report, IOTA revealed that it published 16 blog posts in the second quarter of 2025 to support the launch of Rebased Protocol and the Twin Foundation. Apart from this, around 1,000 posts have been made on social media. This organically recorded impressions of 5.8 million, but 42 million, through advertisements from tea.
