NASDAQ applies the inclusion of staking in BlackRock’s Ethereum ETF as SEC considers the broader industry requirements

8 months ago 3 Min Read

NASDAQ filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). July 16th Add staking to BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF).

The change in the rules adds a detailed “staking” section that allows BlackRock to wager Ethereum (ETH) directly or through one or more trusted staking providers.

BlackRock treats the reward received as income, and businesses must hold piling coins in a matched arrangement May Statement According to the SEC Corporation Finance department for specific protocol staking activities.

In particular, asset managers should obtain attorney’s opinion or US government guidance on federal tax treatment prior to initiation.

Furthermore, in the case of thrashing or forking, BlackRock will not subsidize or absorb incoming losses.

NASDAQ said the proposal would allow ETHA to earn returns while it operates under defined constraints aimed at protecting shareholders and the market.

Competing queues and deadlines

BlackRock is in a queue of publishers who have asked regulators to allow regulators to earn protocol rewards to US-based Spot Ethereum Products.

Cboe is seeking permissions for Feth from Fidelity, Ezet from Franklin Templeton, Qeth from Invesco Galaxy and Ceth from 21 Shares.

At NYSE Arca, Bitwise seeks approval to wager ETH held by ETHW. At the same time, Grayscale is seeking the same approval for Ethe and Mini Trust.

Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seifert responded to X’s Nasdaq submission, I’m saying It was about “time.”

The first final deadline for previous submissions is October, and the deadline for submissions to NASDAQ’s BlackRock ETF is early April. However, Seyffart believes it is unlikely that SEC approval will take much time.

Flows supports publisher pushing

The US list spot Ethereum ETF attracted Over $726 million net inflow Over nine funds on July 16th, we have set daily records.

The heavy inflow could indicate that institutional investors are betting on Ethereum fundamentals, such as infrastructure for stable assets and tokenized assets.
