6 months ago 2 Min Read

FTX is a bankrupt exchange that unexpectedly went bankrupt in 2022 and collapsed the price of Bitcoin, and continues to issue refunds.

At this point there was a new development on repayments, with the next distribution record date for FTX creditors set for August 15th.

According to an official statement, FTX Recovery Trust, the organization responsible for the remaining assets of the bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange, has set August 15th as the record date for the next fund distribution to creditors.

Based on the record date of August 15th, FTX will begin distributing funds to eligible creditors from September 30th, 2025.

Starting September 30, FTX will distribute funds to general unsecured creditors, government agencies, preferential creditors and lower creditors.

It was reported that payments will be made via Bitgo, Kraken and Payoneer.

FTX also added that it has received permission from the Bankruptcy Court to reduce its disputed accounts receivable reserves from $6.5 billion to $4.3 billion.

So far, FTX has distributed around $6.2 billion to users in two distributions. It was $1.2 billion or $5 billion this May.

According to the total repayment plan, FTX is aiming to distribute between $14.7 billion and $16.5 billion.
