The hit TV series Peaky Blinders, which has reached an estimated 80 million viewers through platforms such as Netflix, is set to adapt to the blockchain-based video games and the wider Web3 ecosystem, the companies behind the initiative announced Thursday.
It is developed by Anonymous Labs, a Web3 venture builder that previously launched the Simon’s Cat Cartoon IP Token. The company is partnering with Peaky Blinders’ global distributor Banijay Rights to expand the show’s presence into blockchain gaming and fan engagement tools.
Smoky streets in England in the 1920s are being reimagined as a decentralized playground where fans can dive into high-stakes missions, create their own Shelby-style heritage (the family the series is based on), and engage with Peaky Blind universes.
This game is designed as an AAA title (such a product has a large development budget, a large team, and a game that focuses on high technical quality). It features a community engagement mechanism that uses digital collectibles and blockchain.
The goal is to encrypt it to traditional Peaky Blind Fans via interactive storytelling and gameplay.
“Peaky Blinders is probably the biggest IP ever to begin building a blockchain-based project. We consider this a decisive moment for the entire Web3 industry.”
“This project isn’t just about creating an incredible user experience. It’s a gateway to bring new revenue streams for blockchain and building brand loyalty in the Web3 space,” added Gruszka.
Specific details regarding token mechanics, launch timelines, or the game’s economic structure have not been revealed as of Thursday.
