R3E Network ships a live API indexer for Neo N3, giving developers structured access to on-chain data through a new service at n3index.dev. This release is one of several infrastructure deliveries delivered in two weeks by R3E Network founder and Neo core developer Jimmy Liao, along with a free domain name system and continuous improvements.
These tools extend R3E’s growing infrastructure footprint on Neo N3, including launching the neo3scan.com block explorer, a Rust-based Neo implementation, and a Neo Solidity compiler project.
N3Index API
N3Index offers two integration modes at api.n3index.dev. The Indexer API provides structured JSON endpoints designed for wallets, explorers, and dApps. The REST API, on the other hand, uses a SQL-like URL syntax to expose a raw PostgREST query layer for advanced data consumers.
Core features include account transaction history, NEP-17 and NEP-11 transfer tracking, contract event decoding, token holder information, daily chain analysis, and validator metadata. The service supports both MainNet and TestNet and runs on Cloudflare worker infrastructure. The home page displays lag metrics and coverage statistics for your indexed data.
N3Index is built on neo3fura, a Neo N3 data indexing service that also serves as the backend for neo3scan.com. Data is synced from neo3fura to build the N3Index API layer with additional caching and DDoS protection.
.matrix domain
Liao also rolled out a new domain name system for Neo N3 using .matrix top-level domains. A notable feature is its pricing model, as domain registration is free and has no expiration date.
These domains will be implemented as transferable NFTs on a new smart contract, separate from NeoNS, the native Neo N3 domain service launched in September 2022. NeoNS domains use the .neo TLD and have an annual $GAS Payment of renewal fee, fees start from 2 $GAS Up to 200 per year for names with 5 characters or more $GAS For 3-letter domains.
Liao explained that .matrix primarily serves the R3E ecosystem rather than competing with NeoNS. “NNS is like a business project and it costs money to maintain it,” he told Neo News Today. “.matrix is primarily exclusive to the R3E ecosystem and is available to everyone to own forever.”
This system is integrated into neo3scan.com as a first-class identifier. If an address is bound to a .matrix domain, Explorer will display the domain name instead of the raw address throughout the interface. NeoNS domains are also supported in neo3scan, and Explorer now recognizes two separate naming systems.
Currently, a Neo N3 wallet is required for registration. EVM wallet users cannot register .matrix domains because the account abstraction feature is not yet fully completed.
