The Crypto community has long been used to the wave of speculation about whether Nakamoto Satoshi Nakamoto’s name is behind it, but the recent legal move by Lawyer James Murphy (known as Metalawman many online) has once again tweaked the conversation in unexpected directions, including Ripple’s chief technology officer David Schwartz.
Murphy has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, calling for the release of documents that could shed light on a meeting held with individuals related to the early development of Bitcoin, according to his arguments.
Murphy seems to believe somewhere in these files there is a possibility that a missing link that ultimately attaches its actual identity to the founder of Bitcoin’s mystery.

When the cryptography world caught the wind in this, the ripple effect led some enthusiasts to revisit old theories about who Satoshi was.
Given his extensive background in encryption, his role as one of the key architects of the XRP ledger, and his deep involvement in blockchain infrastructure, it is not at all surprising that his name occasionally pops up in these kinds of conversations, even if he has worked on ideas before.
In typical crypto Twitter fashion, someone joked that if Schwartz was Satoshi, then now might be a pretty good time to make money and run.
His reaction? A tongue-like nod in the form of a GIF in South Park explains that the character has no more money.
Schwartz previously revealed that he had not noticed Bitcoin until 2011. This was a long way after the release and although he may have a skill set, he said he wasn’t involved.
Still, Nakamoto’s curiosity about identity never fades away. It just changes with the heading.
