Ripple’s president reveals big new details of the recent RLUSD milestone

8 months ago 3 Min Read

Ripple President Monica Long has published a tweet highlighting the big moonstone recently achieved by Dubai’s RLUSD. She revealed that all companies licensed by the DFSA can now use RLUSD. The president of Ripple called the event a major milestone for RLUSD.

Big Milestone-RLUSD is currently recognized under Dubai’s world-class DFSA regime. This means that you can fully integrate into Ripple Payment at @DIFC (and used by other DFSA licensed companies!).

7,000 new RLUSD users in Dubai

Monica Long commented on Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), which approved the recently launched RLUSD Stablecoin as a cryptographic token within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

This has greatly strengthened RLUSD’s position in the region as a reliable stubcoin. By this time, RLUSD has already managed to achieve the status of one of the few stupid and stupid stubcoins approved by the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) for use. With its high transparency, utility and backed by USD, cash and a variety of high liquid assets on a 1:1 basis, Stablecoin currently meets all the requirements of Dubai and US regulators and financial institutions.

Ripple is now fully able to integrate RLUSD into DIFC’s RIPPLE Payments system, but it is also available to other companies licensed under Dubai’s world-class DFSA regime. At the end of 2024 there were around 7,000 such companies working actively in the market. They will integrate RLUSD into Dubai’s fintech ecosystem and into digital assets actively used by the country’s fintech companies and banks.

Ripple continues to expand Dubai

One of the goals of creating this asset was to use it with cross-border payments alongside XRP to make it faster, cheaper and more efficient. And this is what Ripple has already started using it.

The region experienced 55% year-on-year in Stablecoin transactions last year, according to a press release shared in a tweet by Monica Long. This was interpreted as a massive demand for blockchain solutions that solve all the problems and inefficiencies of traditional payment systems. Moreover, Dubai boasts a market of over $40 billion for international trade. This makes it an attractive environment for using RLUSD. Therefore, Ripple is expanding integration in the UAE, which began several years ago.
