Sharplink Game to Buy $5 Billion Ethereum: Will Supply Shock be Supplied?

Ethereum is undergoing bullish expansion, holding support beyond $2,650 and above $2,600. This is a move to strengthen investors’ trust across the broader crypto market. ETH shows signs of sustained strength, which increases institutional interest. On Thursday, Sharplink Gaming (NASDAQ: SBET) made headlines by deepening its commitment to Ethereum. With a supplement to the prospectus filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the company has announced that it has raised the limit of its common stock that can be sold from $1 billion to $5 billion.

This strategic move is part of Sharplink’s financial plan, focusing on ETH accumulation, and has become one of the first NASDAQ registered companies to publicly adopt such a bold Ethereal-focused financial strategy. As ETH continues to recover and lead the Altcoins, the news has arrived and is better than its main peers with a ton of technical momentum.

The foundations and price action of Ethereum’s network are consistent with the expanding institutional narrative. Traditional companies like Sharplink integrate ETH into their balance sheets, allowing them to set the stage for a wider wave of corporate crypto adoption, especially if Ethereum is seeing bullish macro trends beyond current levels.

Sharplink will become Ethereum’s largest corporate holder

Sharplink Gaming has officially become Ethereum’s largest corporate holder. With a supplement to its latest prospectus filed with the US SEC on July 17, 2025, the company confirmed that the total amount of common stock sold under its sales agreement with AGP/Alliance Global Partners has increased to $6 billion. The figures include the first $1 billion based on the May 30th prospectus and the additional $5 billion approved by the recent supplement.

These revenues are directed towards Ethereum purchases as part of Sharplink’s Crypto Treasury strategy. As of today, the company holds 280,706 ETH (approximately $1 billion) on its balance sheet.

This bold allocation not only positions Sharplink as a pioneer in corporate Ethereum adoption, but also places a great upward pressure on the long-term rarity of ETH. At current issuance rates, it will take approximately 2.5 years for the Ethereum network to produce 1,436,000 ETH. This could potentially accumulate equivalent volumes Sharplink if the full $6 billion amount is converted to ETH at today’s prices.

This positive strategy demonstrates increased confidence in Web3 value and the role of Ethereum as a long-term storage of infrastructure. It could also mark a turning point in corporate crypto accumulation beyond Bitcoin.

ETH Price Action Details: Important Levels to Watch

Ethereum (ETH) introduced a strong bullish structure to its daily charts, surged to $3,606.38 that day, an increase of 3.64%. After breaking through years of resistance to around $2,850, ETH confirmed the breakout with a strong volume, suggesting the conviction behind the move. Prices are currently well above the simple moving averages of 50, 100 and 200 days. Each of these is $2,640, $2,359 and $2,475, respectively, with a total adjustment of the satiety trend across the entire time frame.

The chart shows a clear breakout from the integration phase that lasted several weeks. The momentum was accelerated as ETH recovered $2,850 and reversed it into support. ETH has since printed some large body candles with minimal cores, a sign of aggressive purchases.

The recent volume has skyrocketed, strengthening the strength of the rally. Current pricing measures suggest markets driven by likely institutional participation, which are likely to be affected by macro development such as ETF inflows and clarity of US regulations.
