Soluna’s project Kati 1 to reach 83 MW in Galaxy Bitcoin Miner deployment

4 months ago 2 Min Read

Galaxy Digital will deploy 48 megawatts (MW) of Bitcoin mining equipment on the Project Kati 1 site at Soluna Holdings in Texas, leading the facility to 83 MW capacity.

Galaxy moves miners to the Soluna site when Helios moves to AI

The deployment includes the relocation of a miner who previously operated in business on the Galaxy’s Helios campus in the Texas Panhandle, according to an announcement shared with Bitcoin.com News. Galaxy has migrated its Helios facility to focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing (HPC) applications.

The move follows Galaxy, which will provide debt financing to Solna in the first quarter of 2025. This new agreement extends relationships into operational collaboration. The initial 35 MW phase of Project Kati 1 is currently under construction and is expected to begin this summer.

Soluna explained that it expects the first phase to operate by 2026 quarter. Galaxy’s 48 MW rollout will energize in stages in the first quarter and the second quarter of 2026. Galaxy will become the first customer to begin mining with Project Kati 1 once construction is complete.

Soluna has revealed that it will provide turnkey power infrastructure and operations for its Galaxy deployment. According to the team, the 48 MW contract represents Soluna’s biggest single partner development to date. Soluna recently completed a 30 MW rollout in another Bitcoin miner.

Soluna CEO John Belizaire said the partnership demonstrates the company’s ability to expand its modular data center approach to meet demand. Sam Kiernan, Galaxy’s business development leader, confirmed that the relocation is part of Helios’ migration away from Bitcoin mining.

“As demand from hyperschool miners continues to surge, Solna is scaling to meet at the moment,” Belizia said.

Once Galaxy miners are fully deployed on Project Kati 1, Soluna expects the total operating capacity across all sites to reach 206 MW. The site uses reduced renewable energy.
