Solv Protocol, the largest on-chain Bitcoin asset management company with over $1 billion in assets under management, announces major architecture upgrades for SolvBTC to enhance Bitcoin ($BTC) Mainnet execution layer to FROST. FROST is a threshold signature scheme developed by the Zcash community that provides institutional-grade multi-signature security independent of the Bitcoin network itself.
The main purpose of this upgrade is to ensure the security and governance of Bitcoin without making any modifications to the network. For seamless and successful operations, this upgrade brings SolvBTC’s Bitcoin execution model from Solv’s Staking Abstraction Layer (SAL), which was launched to standardize Bitcoin staking, to storage powered by the FROST network, as a stronger operational witness at SolvBTC scale.

FROST records are published on the public encrypted ePrint network, which is considered to be renowned for its security and efficiency. The Solv upgrade represents an important step towards bringing this model to a positive point in production on Bitcoin infrastructure. In addition to FROST, SolvBTC introduces and supports Vault pools, indexers, auditors, and managed smart contract controls. $BTC Issuance and redemption occur with greater throughput and under close monitoring.
