Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) Layer 1 Blockchain Somnia has announced the launch of Somnia Playground, an innovative application designed to simplify the creation and hosting of metaverse experiences.

“I can’t wait to hear what creators think about Somnia’s playground,” said Paul Thomas, CEO of Somnia. “Our goal is to empower creators by providing creators with the tools they need to realize their metaverse vision. With Somnia’s playground, we lower the barriers to entry and enable a new generation of creators to develop innovative digital experiences,” he added.

The beta version of Somnia Playground allows creators to build metaverse environments and experiences, invite others to explore and introduce their inappropriate tokens (NFTs). The platform is expected to streamline the creation and publication of metaverse content, allowing creators to focus on realizing their unique vision.

This application provides content creators with a “sandbox” environment, allowing them to test their ideas and creations without the need to deploy to a server infrastructure. This iterative process is intended to save time and resources, allowing creators to experiment, refine and complete their metaverse experiences before they officially launch in Somnia.

Once users create spaces in the playground, they can use referral codes to invite friends to join the quest and climb onto the leaderboard. Users can showcase NFTs and create experiences in a virtual world using the digital currency or assets of their choice. Additionally, Season 2 introduces an updated incentive quest designed specifically for playgrounds.

Somnia prepares to streamline MML object publishing

The project was launched by the Virtual Society Foundation, dedicated to investigating the possibilities of the Metaverse. The project includes a variety of technologies and an ecosystem around it, including a new Layer 1 blockchain, interoperable and configurable content protocols, and a consumer-oriented browser for interacting with a network or metaverse browser.

Currently, Somnia is developing a tool that simplifies the exposing of MML objects with its protocol. This allows users to create, customize and share unique items within the metaverse. Additionally, the platform integrates voice chat to enhance the capacity of each space beyond the existing 20-person limit and enhance social interaction. Once Somnia MainNet is launched, Creations will be able to trade through the Web3 Marketplace.
