In the future, the blockchain segment will display custom-made distributed networks for specific use cases. This positions his new brainchild agglayer as a way to integrate all major blockchain applications.

“Thousands of Custom Build Chains”: Founder of the next generation blockchain polygons

Blockchain customization is an important feature that is essential for building applications that are practically used by different types of consumers. So, you should be ready for thousands of application-specific blockchains created in the “very near future.”

My view: In the very near future we will see thousands of chains custom built for very niche purposes. This customization is key to creating apps for different types of consumers.

I argue that all meaningful apps are in their own dedicated block space, i.e. their own… https://t.co/cuog39vk4d

Some apps offer a truly niche use case. In stages, this process equips all meaningful apps with their own blockchain.

Second, Agglayer, a new crossworking infrastructure protocol backed by the Polygon ecosystem, will become an app that integrates all-purpose manufacturing blockchains.

As covered by previous U.Today, Agglayer is poised to play an important role in the relationships between different classes of distributed networks.

From Defi to GameFi and RWAS, the Agglayer ecosystem covers all existing and potential cryptocurrency use cases.

What is AppChains?

In general, the Polygon founder audience on X (formerly Twitter) agreed with his views on the possibilities of Appchains and Agglayer. However, some speakers said the on-chain experience is too fragmented.

Appchain, or application-specific blockchain, is a custom built distributed network with tunable parameters. Unlike monolithic blockchains (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum), apps can be customized to suit this or its dapp’s business logic.

The AppChain concept gained traction from 2023 to 2024, but several major decentralized protocols have begun moving to their own blockchains, including Unichain in Uniswap and Dydx chains.
