Collectors who want to get top shot moments from their machines don’t need cryptography or blockchain knowledge to get started. Instead, after finding the pack they want to buy on the machine, the user is instructed to scan the QR code on their mobile phone. This automatically creates a flow-supported wallet and houses the internal collection.
Users can then terminate their purchase using credit card or mobile payment options on supported devices such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Initially, 24Karat co-founder Seth Luan said users could purchase mystery boxes with moments from the “Climb: Chance Hit Mini” pack.
“We designed it as a fun and simple entry point,” Luan said. “The user doesn’t select a specific moment, but they will randomly receive one at the time of purchase.”
The pack will sell for 1,000 yen or about $6.70. In the future, collectors may be able to purchase packs from smart vending machines using crypto tokens, but for now, the focus is simply for users with popular Fiat payment options.
