Dubai’s financial regulator has been officially approved by the first company in the Emirates to create a move to create a compliant gateway for facilities to enter the crypto market.

The Virtual Asset Regulator (VARA) granted GAP 3 Partner FZCO (G3) a full operational license on June 23rd, allowing them to lead the offices of institutional customers and families in Dubai.

A team of veterans in the industry at the helm

G3 was founded by a team of veterans in the industry, Robin Janaway of Outlier Ventures, Chris Donovan of Chrow Foundation, and veteran blockchain advisor Adib Tohme. The company operates as an institutional grade advisory service focusing on high-level virtual asset strategies, structuring, licensing, financial management, and execution of the token market.

The VARA license positions G3 and supports businesses and investment institutions seeking compliant access to digital assets, from tokenized real-world assets to core blockchain infrastructure.

Clear Vara’s high regulation bar

Dubai VARA issues a full virtual asset service provider (VASP) license only after the company has fulfilled all regulatory conditions. G3 approval distinguishes it from applicants who follow this full compliance process and still hold principled approval (IPA), but this does not allow operational activities.

G3 licensing allows you to provide a regulated investment advisory service under Dubai’s evolving virtual asset rules. Public Vara Register checks the G3 operational status and emphasizes transparency and client protection.

In a joint statement, the founder of G3 said,

“Dubai’s regulatory leadership will accelerate institutional interest in digital assets and create a unique environment for growth. We will build the G3 to become the region’s best virtual asset investment advisor.”

Filling the gap between big money

G3 aims to help institutional investors adapt to blockchain-based markets. The service covers end-to-end virtual asset advisories under one mission. The team brings over a decade of digital asset experiences to help clients with regulatory clarity, infrastructure planning and investment strategies.

The company has established itself as a bridge between traditional finance and decentralized systems. As real-world asset tokenization grows, G3 is trying to act as a regulatory entry point for institutions moving to Web3.
