Brevis zk coprocessor network widely adopted across Web3

4 months ago 2 Min Read

The Brevis zk coprocessor network, currently featured in X by Da Vinci (@OxDavinci), is an important upcoming infrastructure layer in the decentralized application (dApp) space that requires trustless computation and data validation across multiple blockchains.

Combining zkProofs, off-chain processing, and Brevis Chaining allows developers to never prove complex logic and historical state… https://t.co/okMx7M4zM8 pic.twitter.com/7Z9dzUuYlP

General programmer’s proof

The Brevis network integrates zero-knowledge proofs (zkProofs), off-chain computation, and Brevis chains to enable developers to verify complex logic and historical state without exposing the underlying data. Its proposal challenge model can provide secure, private, and scalable validation. According to the post, Brevis has already created over 37.5 million proofs, made 52,420 API requests, and has 69,153 unique addresses. There are over 23 dApps using Brevis, including PancakeSwap, Kernel, Kwenta, Mellow, Euler, and Bedrock.

Main usage examples

Brevis has many applications including:

  • Verification of identity and reputation between chains.
  • The dynamism of rewards and loyalty systems.
  • Secure Defi automation and liquidation.
  • On-chain governance of DAOs.

Off-chain computation also allows Brevis to increase transaction throughput, supporting thousands of operations per second, as opposed to Ethereum’s 15-30 TPS.

technical insight

This post features the 2025 launch of Brevis Pico, an open source zero-knowledge virtual machine (zkVM). This allows developers to develop, test, and deploy zk applications more efficiently. In fact, all evidence corroborates computational or historical data without revealing sensitive information, which can be beneficial from a privacy and compliance perspective.

Brevis is a competitor of zkEVM, such as zkSync and Polygon zkEVM, and also provides a chain-agnostic general-purpose layer. As the fundamental building block for verifiable computation in Web3, Brevis was deployed as the foundation for a broad ecosystem of dApps, ensuring privacy and efficiency. It provides developers with a scalable zk application platform with tens of thousands of active addresses and millions of proofs.
