Speculation ignites: Will the US dollar run with ripples?

Speculation is shattered when XRP is expected to have links with governments and banks. One example often cited is the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report, which argues that “in the near future, currency-independent P2P payment transfer mechanisms like Ripple will likely be used to access the US dollar instead of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.”
Still, the official channel pushes back the idea of US CBDC running on XRP. The Federal Reserve has made no decisions about launching the CBDC, and does not mention Ripple or XRP in any of its research efforts. RLUSD, on the other hand, is a personalised Stablecoin, not an approved digital dollar. That doesn’t stop X’s echo chambers from keeping the theory alive through endless threads and recycled posts.
Reddit’s discussion highlights utility and adoption as a value promoter, as it believes XRP will become a reserve currency for the new financial system. Influencers and YouTube videos amplify this as they claim that XRP is “digital gold” or bridges trillions. Ultimately, this belief is thanks to a lack of confirmation from official US sources thanks to a cocktail of optimism, selective facts and the power of community echo.
Threads and theory can become trends, but fantasy does not turn stubcoins into sovereign currency. In fact, for now, digital dollars are not waiting in your Ripple inbox. For many onlookers, without federal support or clarity in regulations, RLUSD remains another Stablecoin chasing the relevance. If XRP becomes the backbone of global finance, it’s not because influencers on X, YouTube, or Reddit have declared their fate.
